Before we meet

A few things to arrange before your appointment.

  • Complete the questionnaire

Discuss the questions with everyone at home and include any differing accounts. Each pet involved needs a separate questionnaire.

  • Arrange the veterinary referral

Ask your vet to send a referral and full clinical history. Appointments are confirmed once the questionnaires, referrals and histories have arrived.

  • Keep any filming relaxed

Footage at home or on a walk may help. Do not provoke a reaction or put a person or animal at risk to record it; the team will guide you if specific footage is needed.

Practical details

Dog behaviour consultation FAQs

Referrals, appointments, follow-up and fees, in one place.

Before you book

Do I need a veterinary referral?

Yes. Each pet needs a referral and full medical history. You or the team can request these from your vet. Appointments are confirmed once the questionnaires, referrals and histories are received. Referral guidance.

What concerns can you help with?

Aggression, reactivity, fear, anxiety, noise sensitivity, over-arousal, separation difficulties, guarding, handling concerns and changes with possible medical or pain-related contributors.

What video should I provide?

Do not create or provoke a problem to capture it. Relaxed footage at home or on a walk is often more useful. Never put a person or animal at risk; the team will guide you if specific footage is needed.

What if the problem involves more than one pet?

The consultation fee is for the consultation, not each pet. Separate questionnaires, referrals and histories are still needed for every animal involved.

Consultation & follow-up

What is included before and after the appointment?

Questionnaire and veterinary-history review, a 1–2 hour consultation, clinical-team input including veterinary behaviour expertise, a tailored written plan and communication with your referring vet. Follow-up helps review progress, adjust the plan and work through practical difficulties.

Can we have home visits or practical sessions?

Within roughly 30 minutes of LN6 9NQ, suitable home visits carry no additional charge. Practical one-to-one work can form part of your three or five follow-up hours. Initial meetings may start on Zoom, with local practical work later. Support further afield, including internationally, can be by Zoom, phone or email.

How long does follow-up last?

Use the Standard option’s three hours or Intensive option’s five hours within two months of the initial consultation. Intensive also includes two months of WhatsApp contact and suitable group sessions, plus physiotherapy assessment where indicated at no extra cost, subject to local availability. Physiotherapy is not available to international clients; contact the team to confirm local coverage.

Can I continue after my follow-up period?

Dog revisits within six months of the initial appointment are £495 Standard or £845 Intensive. Revisit information.

Fees & insurance

Can I claim through insurance?

Check your policy for behaviour cover. Direct claims may be possible if agreed ahead of the appointment. Fees and insurance information.

Are there other costs or discounts?
