Cat behaviour
support

Changes in your cat’s behaviour can be hard to interpret. We’ll look at their health, surroundings and relationships to understand what might help.

In-person support locally, with online consultations available across the UK and internationally where appropriate.

Beforeyour appointment

Reviewing the background

We review your questionnaire and veterinary history. A simple floor plan showing your cat’s food, water, litter trays and resting places helps us understand life at home.

1–2hour consultation

Your cat and your home

Usually starting on Zoom, we explore the behaviour and agree a tailored plan. You receive a comprehensive written report, also shared with your referring vet.

Up to 2months of follow-up

Putting the plan into practice

Support by video, phone or email helps you apply the plan and review progress. Suitable local visits may be appropriate.

Before we meet

A few things to arrange before your appointment.

  • Complete the questionnaire

Include the whole household’s observations and note any differing accounts. Complete a separate questionnaire for each pet involved.

  • Arrange the veterinary referral

Each cat needs a referral and full medical history. We or you can request these from your vet before an appointment is confirmed.

  • Sketch your cat’s home

A simple line drawing is enough. Mark food, water, litter trays, resting places and other resources your cat uses.

Practical details

Cat behaviour consultation FAQs

Referrals, appointments, follow-up and fees, in one place.

Before you book

Do I need a veterinary referral?

Yes. Each pet needs a referral and full medical history. You or the team can request these from your vet. Appointments are confirmed once the questionnaires, referrals and histories are received. Referral guidance.

What concerns can you help with?

Toileting outside the litter tray, spraying, conflict between cats, anxiety, overgrooming, aggression towards family members and excessive vocalisation.

What should I prepare?

Complete the cat questionnaire with the whole household and note any differing accounts. Include a simple home layout showing food, water, litter trays and resting places. Questionnaire and preparation.

What if the problem involves more than one pet?

The consultation fee is for the consultation, not each pet. Separate questionnaires, referrals and histories are still needed for every animal involved.

What video should I provide?

Do not create or provoke a problem to capture it. Relaxed footage at home is often more useful. Never put a person or animal at risk; the team will guide you if specific footage is needed.

Consultation & follow-up

What does the clinical team consider?

Alongside a tailored behaviour and training plan, veterinary behaviourists consider possible medical contributions and whether medication may help. Any medication discussion is shared with your referring vet, who provides veterinary care and dispensing.

Can we meet in person?

Consultations usually start on Zoom. Within roughly 30 minutes of LN6 9NQ, a home visit may be possible initially or for follow-up, and a suitable practical session of up to 45 minutes may be included. Contact us about your location and preference. Support across the UK and internationally can be fully remote by Zoom, phone or email.

What if we need more support later?

A cat revisit costs £445, can be booked within six months of the initial consultation and includes a further two months of follow-up.

Fees & insurance

What is included in the fee?

Review of your pre-consultation information, a 1–2 hour consultation, a comprehensive written report and up to two months of follow-up support. Tests, procedures and medication supplied by your own vet are additional.

Can I claim through insurance?

Check your policy for behaviour cover. Direct claims may be possible if agreed ahead of the appointment. Fees and insurance information.
